As part of our Fuels & Energy business, you'll join a highly experienced engineering team responsible for supporting some of Australia's most critical fuel storage and terminal assets. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to asset integrity, reliability, engineering projects and technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of operational facilities.
Based in Brisbane and supporting sites across Eastern Australia, this role offers a unique combination of office-based engineering, site engagement, asset improvement initiatives and project development activities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Fuels & Energy Engineering Team, the Regional Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in supporting the reliability, integrity and performance of critical fuel and energy infrastructure assets across Eastern Australia.
Key responsibilities include:

Conduct asset condition assessments and develop practical engineering solutions to improve asset performance and reliability

Develop scopes of work and technical packages for asset improvement, renewal and modification projects

Provide mechanical engineering advice and technical support to operational and project delivery teams

Support tank inspections, integrity assessments and turnaround activities across customer sites

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, risk reduction and asset optimisation

Ensure engineering activities are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, legislation and UGL HSSE requirements
About You
This opportunity is ideally suited to a Mechanical Engineer with 5–8 years' experience who is looking to broaden their exposure across asset engineering, reliability, integrity and project delivery within the energy sector.
You will bring:

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification

5–8 years' experience within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, Resources, Manufacturing or Heavy Industrial sectors

Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment including pumps, piping systems, valves, pressure equipment and storage tanks

Experience supporting operational assets, engineering projects, reliability or integrity programs
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Exposure to fuel terminals, bulk hydrocarbon storage facilities or petrochemical assets will be highly regarded but is not essential.
