Rosebel Gold Mines is looking for a Metallurgy Assistant to join our Metallurgy department. The Metallurgy Assistant is responsible for collecting, preparing, and checking process samples, supporting laboratory activities, and ensuring accurate test results. The role requires following safety procedures, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting the team with daily metallurgical activities.

Collecting and preparing samples from the process areas for testing.

Performing basic laboratory tests and recording results correctly.

Entering test results and daily information into MS Excel.

Checking and maintaining laboratory equipment and making sure materials and reagents are available.

Following safety rules and keeping the laboratory area clean and organized.

MULO, LTS, LBO diploma, or incomplete HAVO/VWO/ MBO education.

At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in laboratory work, sampling, or metallurgical operations.

Strong knowledge of laboratory sampling techniques, sample preparation, MS Excel, and health and safety procedures.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, accurately, and as part of a team in a fast-paced mining environment.

Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days of break (day/night shifts).

Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate ("Bewijs van Goed Gedrag"). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
