Synergy Construction Group is Hiring
Construction Technician (Qualified Trade)
$45–$50 per hour + Super – negotiable for the right person | Full Time | Sydney
Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights suitable for permanent full-time employment.
We are looking for a skilled, self-sufficient tradesperson who can take a scope of works and deliver it – someone who wants autonomy, variety and a long-term home with a company that values quality work.
Synergy Construction Group is a privately owned Commercial and Industrial Construction company, with occasional Residential works. Our projects span from Western Sydney through to the Northern Beaches and include fit-outs, structural steel, concrete and civil works, and works within live industrial facilities. We pride ourselves on strong relationships, attention to detail and delivering a professional service on every job.
This role suits a qualified carpenter or steel tradesperson – or a highly experienced, well-ticketed all-rounder – who takes pride in their work, turns up on time, and can be trusted to work unsupervised on client sites.
About the Role
You will be issued scoped works and task lists and be trusted to deliver them independently across a variety of commercial and industrial projects, including:
- Carpentry, structural steel and general building works
- Office and industrial fit-outs, construction and deconstruction
- Working at heights and EWP-based works (walkway structures, roofing, services support)
- Works within live, operating industrial facilities, with respect for client operations
- Site preparation, set-out assistance and general site duties
- Pick-up and delivery of materials and equipment between sites, including operating company vehicles
- Maintaining clean, organised and safe work areas in line with WHS requirements
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm (38-hour week)
- Optional Saturday work may be available
To Be Considered, You Must Have
- A trade qualification in carpentry or steel/metalwork – OR extensive commercial/industrial site experience with a strong ticket set
- A valid White Card
- A current EWP ticket and Working at Heights certification (essential)
- Your own hand tools and cordless kit – SCG supplies specialised equipment, plant and consumables
- A current unrestricted Australian driver licence and a good driving history, as company vehicle use may be required
- Your own reliable transport and the ability to travel between project sites across Sydney
- The proven ability to work unsupervised off a scope or task list, use initiative and manage your own day
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
Highly Regarded
- Forklift licence (LF)
- First Aid certificate
- A manual driver licence
- Experience working in live industrial environments (factories, food facilities, clean rooms)
- Experience driving light trucks/tippers and handling construction materials
Company Vehicles, Tools & Equipment
Company vehicles may be provided for authorised work-related duties where required. Company vehicles, fuel cards, tools and equipment must be used responsibly and only as authorised by Synergy Construction Group.
Pre-Employment Checks & Probation
The successful applicant will be required to provide consent to relevant pre-employment screening, which may include reference checks, verification of trade qualifications, tickets and driver licence, driving history and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
Any information identified through pre-employment screening will be assessed having regard to its relevance to the inherent requirements and responsibilities of the position.
The position is subject to a standard six-month probationary period.
