The Role
Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you won’t just be a placeholder on-site—you will be the driving force behind project success. This role offers a dynamic mix of leadership, operational strategy, and hands-on coordination.
Your daily impact will include:
- Leading from the Front: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate day-to-day site operations, ensuring crews and subcontractors are productive and motivated.
- Project Execution: Deliver works safely, on time, and to an exceptional quality standard.
- Resource Optimisation: Manage site logistics, material deliveries, and plant/labour sequencing to maximise efficiency.
- Championing Safety: Cultivate a positive, zero-harm culture through engaging pre-starts, toolbox talks, and proactive risk management.
- Smooth Communication: Act as the vital link between engineers, project managers, and clients, resolving site issues collaboratively as they arise.
About You
You are an experienced civil construction leader who knows how to run a site efficiently, on time and to budget targets. You enjoy mentoring younger operators and know how to achieve the best project outcomes.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Significant experience in a supervisory role within civil construction (experience in subdivisions is highly regarded).
- A sharp eye for detail—you can confidently read and interpret civil plans and project schedules.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with everyone from labourers to clients and the local community.
- An absolute commitment to safety and WHS compliance.
- Required: Construction White Card and a current Driver’s Licence.
- Any additional qualifications (Cert IV Civil Construction, HR licence, First Aid, or Plant VOCs) will be highly valued!
Working Conditions
This is an active, outdoor role where you’ll be on your feet, blending high-level coordination with hands-on physical support when the team needs it. Standard construction hours apply, with occasional overtime or travel required based on project needs.
