About the Role
Join the Parent & Infant Unit, a specialist 5‑bed perinatal mental health service supporting families across the Grampians and South West regions. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide evidence‑based, family‑inclusive and recovery‑focused care to parents and infants during the perinatal period. These newly funded positions offer the opportunity to develop specialist skills in perinatal mental health within a supportive and innovative service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and care plans
- Provide therapeutic support to parents, infants and families
- Engage carers and support networks throughout admission
- Facilitate education and evidence‑based group programs
- Contribute to a safe, therapeutic and recovery‑oriented environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and community teams
Skills & Experience
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Eligible for Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2 classification
- Experience in mental health nursing practice
- Strong assessment, communication and care planning skills
- Commitment to recovery‑focused and family‑inclusive care
Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing are desirable.
This position is paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement. The classification is Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2 (NP21 - NP26) which ranges from $43.81 - $52.29 per hour
