Qscan are looking for an experienced Group Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial management and reporting of the Group.
This is an opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working across financial reporting, analysis, tax, compliance and budgeting, while partnering with stakeholders across a growing organisation.
About the role
As the Group Accountant at Qscan you will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial planning and reporting processes. You will be responsible for end-of-month processing for corporate entities, preparing management and statutory reports, cash flow reporting, and ensuring compliance with external reporting obligations (i.e., tax and audit compliance).
You will also play a key role in supporting the Finance Reporting Manager to deliver timely and accurate financial reports, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Based at our Clayfield Support Office, this permanent full-time role offers hybrid working flexibility.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for corporate entities, including balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statements.
- Analyse financial performance against budget and prior year results, identifying key trends and insights.
- Prepare monthly, half-year and annual consolidated financial reporting, including management accounts and statutory reporting.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger for corporate entities.
- Prepare weekly Group cash flow reporting.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets.
- Prepare and oversee Group capital expenditure reporting.
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
- Support quarterly banking covenant compliance reporting.
- Assist with half-year and year-end audit requirements and work closely with external auditors.
- Support Group taxation compliance, including income tax, FBT and GST.
- Assist with the annual Group insurance renewal process.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- CPA or CA qualified.
- Big 4 background with corporate finance experience and multiple years of experience in Australian tax (Tax return, FBT, and GST).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Thorough understanding of Australian accounting and taxation systems, including statutory and management reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on value-adding activities.
- Ability to build trust and a demonstrated track record of partnering with business leaders and external stakeholders.
