We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.
About the Role
This position would suit an experienced Pharmacy Assistant who is confident working independently, enjoys interacting with customers and can contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy community pharmacy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Assisting customers with appropriate pharmacy and health-related products
- Providing S2 and S3 product advice within your scope of practice
- Referring customers to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Processing sales and operating the point-of-sale system
- Maintaining product displays and merchandising
- Receiving, unpacking and putting away stock
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock ordering
- Managing stock rotation and expiry dates
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional shop floor
- Assisting with pharmacy promotions and seasonal displays
- Supporting pharmacists and dispensary staff during busy periods
- Building strong relationships with our regular customers
- Contributing positively to the overall operation of the pharmacy
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as a Pharmacy Assistant in community pharmacy
- Has strong knowledge of pharmacy products and services
- Has completed S2/S3 training or is willing to complete/update their training
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is confident speaking with customers and identifying when pharmacist referral is required
- Is reliable, punctual and organised
- Has strong attention to detail
- Can take initiative and work independently when required
- Works well as part of a team
- Has a friendly, approachable and professional manner
- Takes pride in providing a high standard of customer care
A Certificate II, III or IV in Community Pharmacy is highly regarded but not essential for applicants with strong pharmacy experience.
