Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a positive and energetic Academic Learning Advisor to join our Academic Success Centre (ASC) team. The Academic Learning Advisor is responsible for delivering student learning support with a holistic view to improve their academic performance and the overall student experience. The role aims to enhance the quality of the learning experience by providing individual meetings and workshops on a range of academic skills in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with workshops and coaching on a range of academic skills (academic writing, referencing, time management, giving presentations, etc)
- Identify students’ learning needs and respond appropriately
- Liaise with other stakeholders to deliver a holistic approach to student support
- Provide students with quality assessment guidance
Requirements
- Relevant Tertiary qualification (essential)
- Experience working with students in a similar support role (essential)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work autonomously in a patient, encouraging and caring manner
- Previous English teaching experience (desirable)
