What this opportunity involves:
Reporting directly to the Marina Manager, the Marina Attendant plays a vital hands-on role in the daily operations of the Sydney Boathouse facility. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic waterfront environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll be the welcoming face of our marina, interacting with yacht crews, berth holders, and visitors while ensuring our facility operates smoothly and maintains the highest standards. Your work will directly contribute to creating a world-class marina experience where attention to detail, proactive maintenance, and genuine hospitality come together. An overview of the role:
Deliver professional and courteous service to marina customers, yacht crews, and members of the public visiting our waterfront facility
Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of the marina, monitoring berth and mooring occupancy and identifying maintenance needs
Perform general repairs, maintenance tasks, and facility upkeep to ensure operational excellence
Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across all areas including bathrooms, grounds, gardens, workshop, and recycling facilities
Provide berthing assistance and support yacht crews with their daily service requirements and operational needs
Manage weekend operations as part of the regular roster schedule
Coordinate with the Marina Manager and operations team to address facility issues and enhance the customer experience
Sounds like you? This is what we are looking for:
Current NSW Boat Licence
Demonstrated boat driving and handling skills with confidence operating vessels in marina environments
Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision
Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Physical capability to perform hands-on maintenance and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Flexibility to work weekends as part of regular rostered shifts
Previous marina or boat yard experience with knowledge of the marine industry (preferred)
Forklift license and operational experience (preferred)
Background working on-board superyachts or in luxury marina environments (preferred)
