We are seeking a high‑performing, experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Minto operations out of our St Mary’s site. This is a permanent, full‑time role, ideally suited to a locally based leader with strong experience in waste, allocations or industrial services environments.
This role is accountable for managing a diverse operational footprint, including specialist fleets, plant, and personnel; driving operational performance; ensuring compliance; and supporting business growth through tenders, development opportunities, and commercial negotiations.
The Role
Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Minto site, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery
Oversee and optimise a diverse fleet including front lift trucks, rear lift trucks, hook trucks, and industrial services vehicles, along with associated plant, equipment, and workforce teams
Plan, coordinate, and optimise fleet allocation and deployment to meet operational demand, customer requirements, and cost efficiency
Manage industrial services operations, including industrial cleaning services,
Ensure compliance with all relevant mining, industrial, environmental, transport, and waste regulations
Lead and support tender preparation, submissions, and commercial negotiations for existing and future work
Develop, negotiate, and manage profitable long‑term commercial agreements with clients and partners
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulators, representing REMONDIS locally
Take accountability for operational financial performance, including KPIs, P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Lead teams, drive continuous improvement, and foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
Skills and Experience
Proven operational management and hands‑on leadership experience in complex, asset‑intensive environments
Demonstrated capability managing mixed heavy vehicle fleets, including front lift, rear lift, hook trucks, and industrial services vehicles
Strong experience in fleet allocation, scheduling, and utilisation optimisation across multi‑contract or multi‑service operations
Background in waste management, transport, industrial services, industrial cleaning, liquids, logistics, or heavy industry
Solid experience working within coal mine and industrial service operations, including site‑based environments and customer interfaces
Proven experience in tendering, commercial negotiations, and business development
Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory obligations, and site‑based operational requirements in coal mining and industrial environments
Demonstrated P&L ownership, budgeting, reporting, and cost control expertise
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with strong IT, planning, and reporting capability
