Our cafe located in Castle Hill business park is looking for an experienced cook or chef to join our team and take the lead in our kitchen Monday to Friday. This is a hands-on role focused on cooking, food preparation and looking after our kitchen.
Trading Monday to Friday 7am – 3pm and serving a moderate ‘All-day Menu’ of items prepared fresh daily, cooked to order breakfast & lunches, specials, business catering and in-house baked goods. We pride ourselves on delivering customers a service and experience that is friendly, consistent, efficient and of quality.
About the Role (Key Responsibilities):
- Food preparation, cooking & cleaning
- Understanding, implementing & adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Maintaining food quality, portion control, and presentation
- Monitoring stock levels and inventory.
- Maintaining a clean and well-organised kitchen environment
- Taking responsibility and overseeing the overall kitchen, it’s workflow and cleanliness
- Able to implement and follow systems for efficient workflow
- Ensuring all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean and in good working order
- Support all team members and contribute to a positive kitchen environment
About You (Skills and Experience Required):
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment or similar
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Able to work in a team environment (FOH & BOH) and communicate effectively
- Is organised and systematic in their work process
- Understands and follows Food Safety Requirements
- Manages multiple dockets efficiently
- Maintains consistency in portioning, plating and presentation
- Takes pride in keeping all areas of the kitchen clean, tidy and organised
- Follows FIFO in stock control
- Reliable, punctual and looking for work stability

Pay: $56,450.07 – $72,000.00 per year
