About the role
As a Roster Support Officer, you’ll provide HealthRoster, payroll and workers compensation services across Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. Working within the Roster Support team, you’ll provide practical advice, resolve roster and pay-related issues and help ensure processes are accurate, timely and aligned with NSW Health requirements. You’ll work closely with managers and key partners including eHealth, HealthShare Services and EML to resolve system and payroll matters across the District. Based at Warrawong (hybrid working available) this varied role brings together workforce systems, customer service and problem-solving, with opportunities to help improve roster support systems and processes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on rostering, HealthRoster, payroll and workers compensation matters.
- Support and train managers and staff to use HealthRoster effectively, including Employee Online, Casual Management, Roster Requests and user profiles.
- Process HealthRoster and workers compensation wages accurately and within required timeframes.
- Resolve roster, pay and workers compensation enquiries, including troubleshooting system and process issues.
- Work with eHealth, HealthShare Services, EML and other internal and external partners to resolve roster, payroll and system issues.
- Contribute to improvements in roster support systems and procedures and participate in related project work.

About you
You are someone who enjoys working with workforce systems and helping people solve problems. You can manage competing priorities, communicate clearly and maintain accuracy in a busy environment where deadlines matter.
Skills and experience
- Experience or demonstrated understanding of rostering and payroll procedures.
- Experience using payroll or human resources systems such as HealthRoster and StaffLink, and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
- The ability to work autonomously and effectively within a high-volume team environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to provide clear advice to managers and staff.
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise competing work and meet deadlines.
- Experience processing workers compensation payroll entitlements, or the ability to learn and apply the required processes.
- The ability to interpret and apply relevant policies, procedures and industrial awards.
