Create your best future and join the UNITE and Customer Operations business as a Chief Product Owner, Hardship & Collections.
What’s the role?
As Chief Product Owner, Hardship & Collections, you'll shape the future of how our platforms support customers through some of life's most important moments, and protect our customers to prevent hard moments from occurring. You'll be accountable for the customer, commercial, risk and strategic outcomes of a complex, enterprise-critical Release Train, leading the transformation of the technology platform for our Hardship, Collections and Recoveries capabilities through a multi-year journey of simplification, modernisation and growth.
You'll own the strategic product direction for Hardship & Collections platforms, making critical decisions on where to invest, scale, simplify or reposition products, journeys and capabilities. Working across senior business, risk, operations and technology leaders, you'll navigate complex dependencies, land contested priorities and ensure product decisions deliver sustainable value for customers, colleagues and shareholders.
A key focus of the role will be helping drive the transition from multiple legacy systems to AssistNow, a single strategic Hardship, Collections and Recoveries platform. Through the UNITE Collections Program, you'll help create simpler processes, stronger customer outcomes and a more modern operating model that empowers our teams to support customers when they need us most.
You'll lead a large and highly capable Product Owner cohort, setting the standard for product excellence, building leadership capability at scale and fostering a culture where customer insight, commercial judgement, risk management and innovation come together to create meaningful outcomes.
This is a role for a strategic product leader who thrives in complexity, can influence at the highest levels of an organisation and is energised by solving enterprise-wide challenges that deliver lasting impact.
What do I need?
- Proven executive-level product leadership experience within Hardships & Collections, or relevant areas within large, complex and highly regulated organisations, with accountability for enterprise-scale customer and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute multi-year product strategies that influence divisional, portfolio or enterprise priorities.
- Deep experience making significant product, investment, risk and prioritisation decisions in complex and ambiguous environments.
- A track record of leading large, multi-disciplinary product teams and developing Product Owners and senior product leaders at scale.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capability, with experience shaping outcomes across executive, governance and enterprise decision-making forums.
- Strong understanding of customer, commercial, risk, regulatory and operational drivers within financial services or similarly complex industries.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation initiatives involving technology modernisation, operating model change and complex cross-functional dependencies.
- A customer-first mindset, coupled with the strategic foresight and leadership courage to challenge convention, make difficult trade-offs and deliver sustainable outcomes.
