Mandatory Requirements
Eligibility to work in Australia
Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence (minimum of Electrical Mechanic)
Electrical trade certificate/qualification (minimum of Certificate III Electrotechnology)
Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certificate
Current Construction Industry White Card
Current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent
Working knowledge of work health, safety, and environmental legislation, including AS/NZ3000 (The Wiring Rules), Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulations 2013, and applicable Electrical Codes of Practice 2013.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting QBuild's mission to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry. This includes providing essential services to government assets, including construction, maintenance, and restoration, and supporting disaster response efforts. You'll also help train the next generation of tradespeople.
Duties and Skills
Perform electrical works, using testing equipment and safety gear for construction and maintenance services.
Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
Demonstrate proficiency in office and email applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook) and input data using computers or hand-held devices.
Understand safe working methods for asbestos, lead-based products, and other high-risk construction work.
Comply with WHS legislation and site rules, including daily task risk assessments, hazard identification, and following safety policies and procedures.
Take personal responsibility for your health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring that your actions do not negatively impact others or property.
Support a diverse, safe, and customer-focused workplace.
Train, mentor, and provide professional support to apprentices at all levels.
Additional Information
Duties may be required across multiple work sites within your appointed region and statewide.
You may need to stay overnight for up to 3 weeks for distant work assignments.
Safety clothing and PPE will be provided and must be worn.
You may be asked to take on team leader and/or foreperson roles as required.
Power tools will be provided when necessary.
The use of a private motor vehicle and/or a QBuild vehicle will be in accordance with relevant policies. Please note, there is no guarantee of a home-garaged QBuild vehicle for this role.
