The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has 50 years of proud history, and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Base Maintenance facility based in Broadmeadow NSW. About the Role
Reporting to the Volunteers & Community Fundraising Manager, and working out of our Lismore Operational Base, this role will be responsible for leading the performance, growth and day-to-day operations of our network of six Helicopter Op Shops, while supporting and empowering volunteers and Volunteer Support Groups across the region.
In this hands on role you will:

Play an important role in creating exceptional retail experiences, increasing community participation and helping generate vital funds that support the Service
- Lead and support the operation and growth of multiple Op Shop locations across the region
- Partner with Volunteer Coordinators and Volunteer Support Groups to build capability, engagement and positive volunteer experiences
- Drive retail performance through merchandising, stock optimisation, promotions and operational improvements
- Manage stock movement and distribution between stores to optimise availability, minimise waste and support environmental sustainability outcomes
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding, communication and retention initiatives
- Build strong relationships with local communities, volunteers and key stakeholders
- Monitor performance, develop plans and identify opportunities for sustainable growth
- Support compliance, facilities, WHS and operational standards across all locations
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to support fundraising and community initiatives
This role will have access to a company provided van and will require regular travel to our network of op shops located in Casino, Grafton, Tenterfield, Coffs Harbour, Yamba and Ballina.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A commercial mindset, strong people skills and the ability to motivate volunteers
- Demonstrated experience in retail operations and or experience leading, supporting or coordinating volunteers and community-based teams
- Strong operational planning, administration and reporting capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- A current Driver Licence
- Qualifications in business, retail, project management, event management or a related field (Desirable)
- First Aid Certificate and/or Responsible Service of Alcohol (Desirable)
Additionally, the successful candidate must be physically capable of undertaking the inherent requirements of the role, including supporting stock movement as well as loading and unloading vans.
