What You’ll Do:
Based in the Brisbane office, the primary objective of the Procurement Category Adviser is to develop and effectively execute sourcing strategies, provide support as required through contract management and supplier management activities across project development activities in Eastern Australia (SA, QLD, NT, NSW) and PNG. This is an exciting and interesting role for a team player with diverse project procurement exposure and skills, interacting daily with a broad group of internal stakeholders and critical suppliers.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

Professionally representing the Procurement function and Santos internally and externally.

Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and sourcing strategies aligned.

Performing sourcing and contract management tasks that deliver sustained value to the company in line with Santos’ Management System and governance framework.

Negotiating contracts and maintaining external supplier relationships and market knowledge

Managing and performing analysis of contract payment claims in collaboration with stakeholders.

Assisting the Procurement Category Lead/s, with category planning including the opportunity to develop and own a category plan with support and guidance.

Ensuring assigned contract compliance with all internal and external requirements, and effective administration of contracts.

Creating and maintaining accurate records in Company systems.

Managing and maintaining health of assigned contracts in line with the approved category strategy.

Allocating business requirements to existing panels to optimise sourcing process and consolidate spend under preferred vendors.

Identity opportunities to increase local and indigenous participation outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
The successful candidate will have previous experience in tactical and/or strategic sourcing, supply chain, contract administration or equivalent commercial contracting experience. You will be competent in Commercial Negotiations, Contract Terms and Conditions, Defining Contract Scope and Specifications, Supplier Relationship Management, Relationship and Influence, Commercial Orientation, Process Orientation, Supply Chain Systems, Sourcing and Purchasing to Pay Process.
While we seek candidates with a strong commercial acumen and tertiary qualification in business, commerce, law, engineering or supply chain management, it’s the mindset and attributes we are focused on that will be critical to your success. This will include an ability to work alongside technical and business professionals, possessing a team-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills.
