An opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Forklift / Terminal Operator to join our team at our Perth Freight Terminal.
What You’ll Do
Play a vital role in the safe and efficient movement of freight, with a strong focus on yard operations, shunting and train preparation.
Reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, you will:

Operate specialised load lifting equipment to move freight on and off trains and wagons

Shunting and train examination duties associated with arrival, departure, marshalling and preparation of trains

Ensure security and general housekeeping is maintained throughout the area of responsibility

Provide safety-critical communications to incoming and outgoing rail services
-
Contribute to the safe and efficient movement of freight across the PN network

Processing freight and documentation into a computerised system

Work a 24/7 forward-rotating roster (38 hours per week on average)
What You’ll Bring

Strong commitment to safety for yourself, your team and the community
-
Ability to work rotating shifts including days, nights and weekends
-
Good communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
-
Current motor vehicle licence
-
Current high-risk forklift licence
-
CN ticket and Reach Stacker experience (highly regarded)
-
Experience in ground shunt, train inspection or trackside safety (highly regarded)
-
Background in logistics, transport or rail (highly regarded)
-
Willingness to learn and obtain new competencies
