Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Clinical Applications Officer to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing.
The Clinical Applications Officer provides specialist application support for the clinical systems that underpin patient care across Latrobe Regional Health. Working within the Clinical Applications Team, this role supports the maintenance, enhancement and day‑to‑day operation of clinical software solutions, ensuring systems remain reliable, effective and aligned with clinical workflows.
Partnering with clinicians, Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA), ICT teams and software vendors, the position plays a key role in supporting system upgrades, incident resolution, user training and digital transformation initiatives that contribute to safer patient care and improved user experience.

The role of the Clinical Applications Officer is to:

Provide specialist support for clinical applications, acting as a key escalation point for complex system issues and change requests beyond the Service Desk.

Coordinate application maintenance, upgrades, patching and testing activities to ensure system reliability and minimise disruption to clinical services.

Support project implementations and system enhancements, including user acceptance testing, go‑live support and issue resolution.

Develop and maintain application documentation, knowledge repositories, training materials and operational procedures.

Monitor system performance, incidents and service requests, providing reporting and recommendations to support continuous improvement.

Build effective relationships with clinicians, vendors, GHA and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication regarding system changes, outages and support requirements.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:

Relevant qualifications or experience in information technology, health information systems, healthcare administration or clinical application support.

Experience supporting software applications, upgrades, testing, incident management and end‑user support activities.

Strong understanding of clinical workflows and the role of information systems in supporting patient care and operational outcomes.

Well‑developed analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

The ability to translate technical concepts into clear, user‑friendly language and deliver training and support to diverse user groups.

Qualifications in Health Informatics or Information Technology, ITIL certification, experience with healthcare applications such as Sunrise EMR, Genie, TrendCare or HealthTrack, and experience in change management or clinical systems implementation (desirable)
