To support our mission, we are seeking a qualified Accountant at our Redbank Plains Family Health Centre to manage our complex financial frameworks and ensure long-term operational sustainability.
The Role
As our Accountant, you will provide professional services relating to compliance-based financial, non-financial, and sustainability-related reporting. This is a role focused on the integrity of our financial systems, auditing, and strategic advisory. You will be conducting high-level financial investigations and managing the fiscal health of the practice.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory: Provide expert financial and taxation advice regarding business plans, entity structures, and the optimisation of accounting information systems.
Financial Overview: Examine the income and expenditure of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in high-volume medical billing environments.
Audit & Compliance: Conduct financial investigations, prepare rigorous reports, financial statements and taxation documents, and ensure compliance with associated record-keeping requirements.
Policy Formulation: Assist in the creation of budgetary and accounting policies, focusing on long-term sustainability and resource allocation.
Systems Management: Oversee accounting information systems to ensure seamless reporting and data integrity between medical and financial platforms.
Insolvency & Risk: Manage financial risk assessments and provide advice on insolvency and business continuity where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as an Accountant.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of compliance-based reporting and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder financial structures.
