Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair diesel-powered equipment and machinery.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
- Perform scheduled maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Conduct fault finding using diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete job documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety standards.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent.
- Proven experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Current driver's licence (HR licence preferred but not essential).
- Welding and fabrication experience is an advantage.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
