Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong gearbox overhaul and repair experience to join their growing workshop team in Beresfield.
This is an ASAP start position offering ongoing work with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

The Role
You will be responsible for the overhaul, repair, maintenance and assembly of heavy industrial gearboxes and associated mechanical equipment used across mining, construction and heavy industry sectors.
Duties include:
- Gearbox dismantling, inspection and rebuilds
- Fault finding and mechanical diagnostics
- Bearing, seal and shaft replacements
- Precision measurements and alignment
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Workshop-based fitting and maintenance activities
- Maintaining high safety and quality standards
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Proven gearbox overhaul and repair experience
- Experience working on heavy machinery or mining equipment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
Highly Regarded
- Mining industry experience
- Experience with planetary gearboxes
- Hydraulic and mechanical maintenance experience
- Forklift, Dogging or Rigging tickets
