Hospital Claims Team Leader

Who are we?
Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 70 years ago and is the only health fund exclusively for the education community. As a not-for-profit health fund, we exist for our members covering the lives of over 500,000 teachers, education staff & their families.
What will you do? / How will you help?
As a Hospital Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day success of our hospital claims team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage a team of Hospital Claims Assessors in achieving performance and continuous development, including workload management and workforce planning.
- Coach, upskill and ensure competency development across the team in achieving KPI and service standards.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with both legislative frameworks and business practice.
- Lead the implementation of policy, process, and system changes for the Hospital Team.
- Collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and creating best practice processes.
- Provide technical expertise and function as a subject matter expert with the hospital space.
- Identify compliance issues, fraud risk, and opportunities to minimise benefit leakage.

What do you need? /What are we looking for?
Essential:
- Proven Team Leader experience (including managing performance and difficult conversations)
- Strong process orientation with the ability to support others through change.
- Experience working in high-volume, KPI-driven environments.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and internal systems.
Desirable:
- Private Health Insurance or claims experience.
- Hospital claims knowledge or familiarity with hospital/clinical terminology
- Experience with HAMBS or similar claims systems
- Qualifications in Business, Management, or a related field

The salary package for this role is $124,244 (inc super)
