Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to support the accurate and timely processing of supplier payments for our Australian operations. Based in our Melbourne CBD office, this role will work closely with our national Finance team, providing dedicated support to our Melbourne business while collaborating with colleagues across Australia.
Reporting into the Finance Shared Services Manager, you'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting supplier relationships and ensuring invoices and payments are processed efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
This role is ideal for someone with Accounts Payable experience who enjoys working collaboratively, has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in providing excellent internal and external customer service. You'll be joining a supportive team that values knowledge sharing, continuous learning and working together to achieve great outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume supplier invoices accurately and within agreed payment timeframes.
- Prepare payment runs and ensure payment documentation is complete and compliant.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice or payment queries promptly.
- Monitor the Accounts Payable inbox and respond to supplier and internal enquiries.
- Process utility invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
- Allocate cost codes and ensure invoices are processed in accordance with company procedures.
- Support month-end activities and prepare reports as required.
- Maintain compliance with financial controls, statutory requirements and BGIS business systems.
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable position.
- Experience processing high-volume invoices with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Experience within a property, facilities management or corporate services environment.
- Experience using MRI or similar financial systems.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting software.
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.

This position is based in our Melbourne CBD office, conveniently located close to public transport.
