Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist- Locum

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist to provide locum cover during a period of leave. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative multidisciplinary rehabilitation service and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care across the continuum of rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will provide specialist rehabilitation medicine input to inpatients with a broad range of rehabilitation needs, coordinate discharge planning including leading family meetings and participating in multidisciplinary team planning meetings, and liaise closely with community, ambulatory and subacute rehabilitation services to facilitate seamless transitions of care. The role also involves assessing and managing spasticity early in the patient journey, participating in multidisciplinary rehabilitation assessments, goal setting and rehabilitation planning, and contributing to data collection, quality improvement activities, and the presentation of service outcomes and evidence.

To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current AHPRA registration with AHPRA
Fellowship with AFRM(RACP)
Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
A strong commitment to high quality care
The ability to work as part of a diverse team
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
