Position: Air Conditioning Technician

Total Air Pty Ltd is currently seeking a skilled, motivated, and reliable Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Bexley, New South Wales (NSW).

Due to continued growth, we are seeking for an Air Conditioning Technician with proven experience working in a variety of settings.
About the Role
As an Air Conditioning Technician at Total Air Pty Ltd, you will play a key role in our service and installation team, ensuring the efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality workmanship will support our reputation for delivering reliable, high-standard HVAC solutions across commercial and industrial environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Installing, maintaining and repairing air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments;
· Diagnosing faults and performing repairs on components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporates, switches, and electronic control systems;
· Assembling, installing, testing, and troubleshooting commissioning air conditioning systems in accordance with design specifications and manufacturer requirements;
· Interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications to determine appropriate installation methods and materials;
· Conducting routine inspections, performance testing, and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and regulatory standards;
· Using specialised tools and testing equipment to identify system faults and ensure accurate repairs and servicing;
· Installing and connecting ducting, insulation, controls, copper pipework, and associated electrical components as required;
· Maintaining accurate service records, job documentation, and reporting any technical or safety issues to management;
· Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, building codes, and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
Skills & Experience – Who we’re looking for:
For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:
· Minimum Certificate III in air conditioning and HVAC, OR at least 2 years of relevant industry experience;
· Demonstrated hands – on experience installing, maintaining and repairing air conditioning systems;
· Valid driver’s licence and White Card;
· Relevant trade licences as required;
· Strong technical knowledge of split systems, ducted systems, VRF/VRV systems, and general air conditioning equipment;
· Experience using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and standard trade tools relevant to air conditioning installation and servicing;
· Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team and liaise with clients and contractors;
· High regard for workplace health and safety procedures;
· Positive, reliable and proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to quality workmanship;
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and service tasks;
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple service and installation tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
