Anglicare Southern Queensland are currently seeking to hire a Full Time Permanent Rostering Officer to join our Aged Care and Community Services Team based in Eight Mile Plains.
In this role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the master roster that compliments the business needs and involves rostering staff to deliver work on time and within budget. The Rostering Officer will also be responsible for rostering a team of workers to deliver support and care to community clients, aged care residents, families and young persons, in alignment with a range of program contracts, industrial provisions and business needs.
This role will be paid on Level 4.1 on the Admin Award - $32.0414 per hour. As a Not for Profit employee you can also take advantage of Not for Profit Salary Packaging which can reduce your taxable income by up to $18,550. By lowering your taxable income, you pay less tax per paycheck and can have more disposable income.
What the role involves:
- In collaboration with Coordinator, create and manage roster templates, ensuring timely delivery before service provision.
- Ensure rosters comply with Award / Enterprise Agreement provisions, distribute shifts fairly, and consider staff welfare and wellbeing.
- Fill vacant shifts promptly to ensure minimum disruption to Services and maximum cost
effectiveness to the organisation
- Address employee leave requests and ensure adequate coverage for planned vacancies (e.g. resignations, parental leave).
- Contact available workers to fill unplanned vacancies (e.g., sick leave) to ensure continuity of service delivery.
- Review and authorise timesheets daily for payroll processing, escalating anomalies as needed.
- Liaise with Scheduling Officers or Payroll Advisors to address system, procedural, or compliance issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all rostering inquiries and duties.
- Update the roster database with worker availability, service preferences, leave requests, and
other relevant information.
What our team are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience working in a centralised rostering function
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end rostering process
- Experience working in a fast-paced rostering, administration and data entry role
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail and able to assess priorities and manage competing deadlines.
- Advanced proficiencies in Microsoft suite e.g., Word, Excel, Windows, and an ability to learn new software programs.
