We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Full Time Retail Shop Manager to join our team at Mt Tamborine.
As the Retail Shop Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of product quality, presentation, and overall store performance. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to operate the department with a strong sense of ownership, with the flexibility to tailor service and product offerings to meet the specific needs of the local community.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist in developing and implementing the business plan for the store/department
- Order stock to maintain range and maximise sales potential
- Drive achievement of budgeted sales and shrinkage targets
- Maintain store presentation and department layout standards
- Conduct regular stocktakes and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations where applicable
- Respond to customer queries promptly and enhance overall customer experience
- Manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and formal counselling where required
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements, including manual handling and cash handling procedures
The successful applicant will have:
- Proven experience in a similar Retail Shop Manager or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of grocery retail, including merchandising and sales principles
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Supervisory experience in a fast-paced retail environment (preferred)
- Commercial acumen, including wage control, sales budgets, rostering, and cost management
- Food safety qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Strong teamwork skills, a willingness to learn, and a proactive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to analyse data, forecast trends, and provide insights to drive sales strategies
- Demonstrated success in planning, forecasting, and sales performance
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
