Newly created position for our Night shift Team
We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers with a nursing -EN/RN or healthcare background to join our team in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment, caring for our client with high support needs, including Behaviour Support management.
*Hiring for week nights plus, Saturdays and Sundays across evening PM
Shift starts @ 5pm finishes at 9pm
Preferred Age: 25 – 40 y.o.
Essential: Must have clear concise English as communication can be an issue for our client.
About the Role:
You will be working with one man living in his own home, he has Autism and Epilepsy and intellectual disability who requires hands-on support with all activities of daily living (ADLs).
This is a 2:1 support team working across the evening shift – Casual but fixed roster with some flexibility as shifts arise, fortnight roster system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full assistance with personal care, including showering and toileting assistance plus assistance with his ADLs
- Community Access
- Epilepsy and seizure management
- Domestic assistance including cooking nutritious meals and some light housework
- Ability to write informative client management notes each shift, willingness to learn our client management system
- Working collaboratively within a small night team
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Clear understanding some night shifts may include active support as needed
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum Cert IV in Disability or nursing background (EN/RN qualifications highly regarded)
- Proven experience in SIL setting or similar
- Epilepsy management, midazolam trained, medication certificate, Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, Food handling, and Driver's Licence
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the areas listed above
- Excellent communication, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Reliable and punctual

This shift is new to our Team, as we move into 3 shifts for our family SIL home.

Pay: $43.00 per hour Plus Superannuation @ 12% = $48.00/hour paid fortnightly
Experience:
- Proven experience working with clients with Autism and intellectual disability
- Epilepsy and epilepsy management, medication approved
- Epilepsy management including Midazolam experience
- Nurses - highly regarded for this position - PCA/EN: 2 years (Required)
- Senior Disability Support Worker - Key Support Worker with proven experience in Disability support
- Clear understanding of Behaviour Support Plans
- Ability to work with non verbal clients and willingness to learn his communication system
- Follow work plans
- Experience in client management notes required per shift
Pay: $41.00 – $43.00 per hour
