The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Zero Harm Advisor to join our Energy and Utilities- Water team supporting a major Infrastructure Water Treatment Plan project based in Chambers Flat QLD.
This is a key leadership role responsible for enabling health safety and environmental performance across project delivery while embedding a strong Zero Harm culture.
Reporting to the Manager Zero Harm you will partner closely with operational leaders project teams and stakeholders to ensure robust systems compliance and continuous improvement across all aspects of Zero Harm.
This is a full time fixed term opportunity for two years with potential extension aligned to project timelines, and opportunities within other Downer projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the start of a major project, that will have tangible impact on the future growth of the region.
What we're looking for
You are a proactive and influential safety lead with a strong track record of delivering health safety and environmental outcomes in complex project environments.
You will bring:
- Minimum eight years’ experience in health and safety roles within construction or contracting environments ideally within utilities or infrastructure, Construction, Building, Major Project work or related heavy industry works.
- Strong knowledge of Australian safety legislation, industry best practise and contemporary approaches to safety
- Demonstrated experience implementing and improving Zero Harm systems
- Proven capability in incident investigation risk management and injury management
- Experience coaching and mentoring operational leaders and stakeholders to help uplift capabilities
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders and contractors at all levels of the organisation
Relevant qualifications such as Diploma in OHS and associated certifications (ICAM and advanced Diploma and above highly regarded)
