As Chief Steward, you’ll lead the stewarding function and deliver high-quality back-of-house support that keeps our Kitchen Brigade firing—safely, smoothly, and with pride.
What you'll be doing
- Coach and develop stewarding employees to drive engagement, accountability, and performance.
- Lead a stewarding team aligned to event demand and operational needs.
- Deliver onboarding, training, and development in line with Adelaide Oval standards.
- Oversee cleaning, sanitising, waste management, equipment movement, and maintain cleaning schedules/checklists aligned with sustainability objectives and HACCP requirements across AOSMA outlets.
- Lead WHS in the department, including hazard management and incident reporting; ensure correct use and availability of PPE, chemicals, and MSDS documentation.
Your skills and experience
- Relevant qualifications in Kitchen Management and extensive industry experience.
- Proven experience in the Food & Beverage industry (ideally within a significant stadium environment).
- Strong hands-on capability across manual & mechanical dishwashing and pot washing, plus the practical realities of high-volume service support.
- Solid track record in hygiene and food safety—including training and managing effective hygiene procedures and ensuring food safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Confident WHS experience—participating in and taking responsibility for WHS procedures, reporting hazards/incidents and ensuring MSDS and PPE procedures/training are followed.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
