Position Summary:
Creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate Artist/support worker to deliver group art sessions for children with special needs. This casual role involves designing and leading fun, inclusive, and engaging art activities for up to ten participants, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for creativity to flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate group art sessions (up to 10 children with special needs).
- Create and adapt art activities to suit a range of abilities, sensory needs, and interests.
- Provide encouragement and guidance to participants to support confidence and creative expression.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and safe group environment.
- Collaborate with support staff, parents, and carers to ensure participants’ needs are met.
- Set up and pack down program spaces, including preparation and management of materials.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in line with Mama Respond policies.
- Record attendance and provide feedback or progress notes as required.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience in arts facilitation, teaching, or leading creative workshops (preferred with children and/or people with disabilities).
- Certificate 3 in Disability Services preferred.
- Understanding of inclusive practice and ability to adapt activities to individual needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.
- Ability to manage group dynamics and maintain a positive and safe environment.
- Creative problem-solving skills and flexibility.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
- Current police check (maximum of 6 months old)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable).

Pay: $45.08 – $45.28 per hour
