We are seeking a passionate and reliable Cafe Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality breakfast, lunch, and grab-and-go items while maintaining excellent food safety standards. - Food Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present menu items quickly and consistently according to standard recipes.
- Kitchen Operations: Manage the breakfast and lunch service, ensuring smooth communication with front-of-house staff.
- Food Safety: Maintain strict hygiene, cleaning, and sanitisation schedules in compliance with local food safety regulations.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, rotate produce using FIFO methods, and assist with ordering.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with baristas, waitstaff, and kitchen hands to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a cook or chef in a high-volume cafe or restaurant kitchen.
- A valid Food Handler’s Certificate is essential.
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is highly regarded but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and kitchen WHS practices.
- Ability to stay calm, focused, and efficient during busy morning and weekend rushes.
- Excellent communication skills and a reliable, punctual work ethic.
Pay: $53,692.94 – $83,045.08 per year
