About the Opportunity
The Maintenance Team Lead will safely, effectively and efficiently plan, schedule and conduct work to maximise the availability and reliability of the Collins Class Submarine Fleet. The Maintenance Team Lead will support the running of the Fabrication workshop and when required supervise fabrication/welding teams at other locations.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and housekeeping of the work site is the first priority during the execution of the work.
- Ensuring the execution and maintenance of safe and non-discriminatory working practices i.a.w. relevant Company Policy and Legislative requirements.
- Accountable to the Trade Superintendent for all Production activities during a maintenance availability to meet the boat and workshop requirements in regard to time, quality and risk.
- Adherence to the agreed trade team schedule from planning through execution to close-out, inclusive of all work pack administration underpinning certification of the platform.
- Ownership of their trade team EVM and awareness of other trade team EVM recognising how they are interrelated in the maintenance of submarine systems.
- Direct and supervise maintenance / workshop team trades in the day-to-day work to maintain their boat schedule / workshop commitment and progress.
- Direct and supervise allocated labour subcontractors as required by the Trade Manager.
- Support the upskilling of the trade workforce by conducting ongoing reviews of individual performance, developing individuals in accordance with the Skills Matrix System (SMS) and assisting in the attainment of Front-line Technical Delegation (FTD) as required by the Trade Manager.
- Attendance and pro-active involvement in meetings, as required, with particular emphasis on those relating to toolbox, the next 24 and trade team.
About you
- Trade qualification. Minimum 5 years with Supervision experience desirable.
- Collins Class Submarine systems and CCSM Business knowledge.
- Welding Supervisor Cert 10 (Desirable).
- Knowledge of ASC corporate databases (Control, PLM) (Desirable).
- The ability to lead and provide advanced technical guidance to a skilled team in the associated trade discipline.
- CMS Processes, specifically WHS Policies and Procedures (Desirable).
- A sound understanding of the construction and / or maintenance workshop based and onsite CCSM (Desirable).
- Ability to use /or be trained in a wide range of PC based systems and ASC business applications.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
