The Role
We are seeking a solicitor to join us on a full-time basis. The role will involve working 5 days per week with flexible hours. Initially it will be based in the office but there is potential to work from home.
This role will suit a mid-level building lawyer (1+ years PQE) who wants to manage his or her own clients and become a leader in the firm.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include all facets of front and back end residential building law including:
● Preparing pleadings and evidence
● Briefing experts and counsel
● Providing client advice
● Settlement negotiations and documentation
● Client management
● Construction disputes
● Building and construction litigation
● Contractual and commercial disputes
● Contract drafting
● Procurement and front-end advisory work
● Complex construction claims and dispute resolution
You will report directly to the firm's principal and act as the anti-money laundering compliance officer for the firm.

Required Skills
● Experience in building litigation
● Familiarity of the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW), Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW) and other relevant legislation
● 1–3 years PAE in litigation and commercial law (property experience helpful but not essential)
● A genuine interest in construction law - contracts, projects, disputes, problem-solving
● Exposure to general commercial disputes connected to construction and property matters
● Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
● Excellent in English
● Experience in drafting and preparing costs assessment applications
● Confidence and maturity
● Experience in using SILQ, Xero, NSW Online Registry and AI software (Parachute)
● Ability to speak multiple languages is a benefit but not a requirement
● Ability to work in a small team
● Experience with clients from other countries
Please note that successful candidates will have to pass a police clearance check due to the role as the firm's anti-money laundering compliance officer.
Salary
Salary commensurate with experience.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
