Press Brake Operator – Day or Afternoon Shift
Location: Darra Brisbane
Pay Rate: $37 – $47 per hour (depending on experience)
We are currently seeking
experienced Press Brake Operators to join a growing sheet metal manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with
CNC or brake press experience who wants to work in a supportive team environment with strong safety standards and opportunities to grow.
Both
Day Shift and Afternoon Shift opportunities are available.
The Role
You will be responsible for operating
press brake machinery to manufacture sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves machine setup, operation, and ensuring high-quality production standards.
Shift Options
Day Shift
- Monday – Thursday: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon Shift
- Monday – Thursday: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Friday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Note: Afternoon shift employees may complete initial training on the day shift.
Pay Rates
- Casual: $43 – $47 per hour
- Full-time: $37 – $42 per hour (depending on experience)
- Additional loading applies for afternoon shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set up press brake / CNC machinery
- Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings
- Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks
- Ensure accuracy and quality of produced components
- Maintain safe work practices
- Support general production and manual tasks when required
Essential Requirements
- Experience operating press brake or CNC machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong communication skills in English
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn new processes and machine setups
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks
Desirable Experience
- 2+ years press brake operating experience
- Background in sheet metal fabrication
- Forklift licence
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
