Apprentice Panel Beater
Mercedes-Benz Macgregor Autobody | Autosports Group
Mercedes-Benz Macgregor Autobody is a newly Mercedes-Benz approved repair facility and part of Autosports Group — Australia and New Zealand’s leading prestige automotive group. We are looking for motivated Apprentice Panel Beaters at any stage of their apprenticeship to join our team. If you are serious about your trade, take pride in your work, and want to learn your craft on some of the world’s most prestigious vehicles, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
About the Role
An apprenticeship at Mercedes-Benz Macgregor Autobody is not like any other. You will work in a newly manufacturer-approved facility, alongside experienced panel technicians, on prestige and luxury vehicles that demand absolute precision in every repair. The standards we hold our fully qualified technicians to are the same standards you are working toward — and we will invest in your development every step of the way.
Whether you are just starting out or well into your trade, you will find a structured, supportive environment that takes your career seriously. We are open to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year apprentices — what matters most is your attitude, your commitment, and your drive to become the best in your trade.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist qualified panel technicians with the repair, straightening, and reshaping of damaged vehicle body panels under supervision
- Develop skills in metal straightening, dent removal, panel alignment, and structural repair techniques
- Learn to use panel beating tools, frame straightening equipment, and welding systems correctly and safely
- Prepare damaged panels for painting, including grinding, sanding, and filling to the required standard
- Complete all tasks within your current competency level under the supervision and guidance of qualified technicians
- Maintain your work area in a clean, safe, and organised condition at all times
- Participate actively in all on-the-job and off-the-job training requirements for your Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology
- Follow all WHS/OHS procedures without exception and use correct PPE for every task
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in, or eligible to commence, a Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology
- A genuine passion for the automotive trade and a determination to become exceptional at your craft
- A hardworking, reliable, and coachable attitude — you take direction well, ask questions, and never cut corners
- Previous experience in a panel shop or autobody environment is an advantage but not essential — what matters most is your commitment
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to the workshop culture
- Valid driver’s licence (or actively working toward one)
What You'll Get
- Train in a newly Mercedes-Benz approved Autobody facility with state-of-the-art equipment and manufacturer-approved repair methods
- Work on some of the most prestigious vehicles in the world — Mercedes-Benz, AMG, and EQ models
- Structured mentorship from experienced panel technicians in a professional, supportive workshop environment
- A clear career pathway from apprentice to qualified technician and beyond within Autosports Group
- Competitive apprentice wage reviewed annually in line with your year level and progress
- Paid Parental Leave, free Molinari coffee daily, and a team that genuinely backs your growth
- Employee Assistance Program and a workplace culture built on respect, safety, and excellence
