Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and proactive Draftsperson / Estimator to join our team.
About the Role
This is a diverse role combining estimating, drafting, stakeholder engagement, and business development. While primarily office-based, you will also attend site visits, conduct assessments, meet with clients and stakeholders, and develop practical modification solutions.
You will be responsible for preparing compliant quotations for a variety of home modification projects including ramps, bathroom modifications, access improvements, handrails, and general building works.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quotations for home modification projects
- Attend site inspections and stakeholder meetings throughout Melbourne
- Measure and assess properties to develop practical modification solutions
- Produce sketches, drawings, and layouts to support quotations
- Liaise with Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare detailed and compliant quotations within required timeframes
- Manage opportunities and quotations through Simpro
- Assist in developing relationships with referral partners and key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to convert enquiries into approved works
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven sales ability and confidence building relationships with stakeholders
- Experience in estimating, drafting, construction, carpentry, or residential building
- Working knowledge of Simpro (preferred)
- Sound understanding of AS1428.1 accessibility standards
- Ability to interpret plans and develop practical construction solutions
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
