Operator

We're looking for a hands-on and motivated Operator to join our Brooklyn team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, likes being part of a busy team environment, and is keen to develop new skills in the recycling and resource recovery industry. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the yard, helping to ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment. You'll gain experience operating machinery, grading and processing metals, and assisting customers with their recycling needs.
What You'll Be Doing:

Grading, sorting, and purchasing scrap metals.

Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins, and trailers.

Providing excellent customer service and assisting customers with enquiries.

Operating forklifts and other machinery and equipment.
-
Weighing, bagging, palletising, and preparing materials for transfer and stocktake.

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.

Following all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
What We're Looking For:

Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and separate different metal types.

A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Previous experience in a customer service, labouring, warehouse, recycling, or similar role.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and safely in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Basic numeracy and computer skills
Desirable Skills & Experience:

Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
