The Junior Finance Assistant provides administrative and financial support to the Finance Manager to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the finance department. This role assists with invoicing, payroll administration, accounts processing, reconciliations, and financial record keeping while developing knowledge and skills within financial management.
The position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring the organisation can continue delivering high-quality services to children and young people.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Certificate III or IV in Business, Accounting or Finance (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles.
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong numerical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Preferred
- Experience using Xero.
- Experience working in administration or finance.
- Experience within the community services, disability or child safety sector.
- Understanding of payroll processes.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace and Connecteam.
Pay: $29.45 – $37.36 per hour
