Prestige Truck Bodies is the leading company in manufacturing of truck bodies. We build all traditional rigid body types and in addition we custom design bodies to suit client's needs.
We are looking for a full-time Sheetmetal Trades Workers/Metal Fabricators to be based in Carrum Downs, Victoria who will be responsible for the mark out, shape, form and join of materials to make and produce truck bodies. Other tasks will include:
Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements
Selecting metal stock,such as galvanised iron, mild steel and aluminium, and check sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications
Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines, using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments
Cutting metal stock along guidelines using hand and power shears, guillotines and drills
Shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers
Fitting and assembling components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining
Finishing products by polishing, filing, sanding and cleaning assembled products
May repair damaged sheetmetal products and components
May specialise in fabrication, or on-site assembly and installation, of sheetmetal products
Responsible for the minor and major maintenance of the various tools and components in and around the work station.
· Perform grinding works where applicable.
· Before work makes sure all tools and equipment are in working order and ready to use. Report any damaged tools to the appropriate person.
· At the end of the day, check that all tools and equipment are packed away, where applicable.
· Clear the work area.
· Maintain high personal standards of conduct, professionalism, and presentation.
Position details: 38 hrs per week $79,500 - $80,000 including guaranteed overtime.
Pay: $79,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
