About us:
Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all Health Service physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment.
IAM is staffed with professional, trade, operational, and administrative staff. Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices.
The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. IAM provides a 24-hour corrective maintenance and breakdown service for the facilities around the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will....
Use hand tools and operate minor power tools for non-trade work as defined by the maintenance Trade Coordinator.
Demonstrate a proactive willingness to undertake any training or skill development deemed necessary to support the role and business needs.
Carry out daily duties in a manner that is both safe for you and other staff members and members of the public, and in accordance with occupational health and safety standards
