Full-time Chefs Required
Jamaica Blue Ellenbrook is looking for full-time chefs to join our team.
Successful applicants are expected to support the continued growth of Jamaica Blue Ellenbrook through the preparation and delivery of high-quality cafe meals ,while maintaing food safety,consistency,and customer satisfaction standards.
Duties will include:
- Preparing, cooking, garnishing, and presenting a wide range of café-style meals, breakfast dishes, lunch items, desserts, and catering orders in accordance with brand standards and recipes.
- Assisting management in reviewing menu offerings and providing recommendations for seasonal specials, promotional items, and improvements based on customer feedback and operational requirements.
- Ensuring all food is prepared and presented consistently in accordance with franchise specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, plating, and service activities to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high food standards and customer satisfaction.
- Training and mentoring cooks and kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking procedures, food presentation, portion control, and workplace hygiene requirements.
- Managing food production schedules and coordinating kitchen operations to ensure timely preparation and service during peak trading periods.
- Estimating food requirements, controlling stock levels, ordering ingredients and supplies, and liaising with approved suppliers to ensure the availability of quality products.
- Monitoring food and labour costs, minimising wastage, and implementing cost-control measures in line with business budgets and operational targets.
- Assisting with the recruitment, induction, training, and performance supervision of kitchen staff.
- Ensuring food is stored, handled, and prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and Western Australian health requirements.
- Inspecting kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency, and arranging maintenance or repairs where required.
- Maintaining records relating to food production, stock control, food safety compliance, and kitchen operations.
- Working closely with management to maintain franchise operational standards and enhance customer dining experiences.
Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or above qualification in hospitality industry
- At least one-year of relevant work experience
- Able to work under pressure
- Good communication skills and team work spirit
