The opportunity:
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide commercially pragmatic legal advice, negotiate a broad range of research and commercial agreements, manage one direct report, and work closely with stakeholders across research, clinical, corporate and executive teams.
This is a varied and rewarding role offering exposure to cutting-edge research, intellectual property, clinical trials, governance and strategic partnerships.
What you’ll do
Review, draft and negotiate commercial, research and clinical trial agreements
Provide timely legal advice across research, corporate and operational matters
Support intellectual property, collaboration and commercialisation activities
Partner with stakeholders to identify and manage legal risk
Lead legal education initiatives across the Institute
Build strong relationships with external legal advisers and key stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal & Compliance team
What you’ll bring
Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner with 8+ years' post-qualification experience
Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience mentoring or leading junior lawyers
A collaborative and pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving
