Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Administration and Customer Service Support Officer to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.
Reporting to the Operations Manager - Water and Wastewater, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of various administrative tasks and the provision of secretarial services to the water and wastewater operations department to help promote the image of Council as professional, efficient, courteous and caring in responding to enquiries and complaints and in gathering and providing relevant information.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Provide confidential administrative support including preparation of correspondence, reports, presentations, and other essential documentation.
- Determine, develop, and manage processes for administration and the flow of work for the division ensuring streamlined and effective outcomes.
- Manage the departmental staff’s time commitments and diary to ensure urgent matters are prioritised and make the most efficient use of resources.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager in prioritising and filtering information requests, drawing attention to urgent matters which require immediate attention and referring operational matters to other staff as appropriate to enable the most effective use of time available.
- Source, format, collate all necessary documentation for meetings and engagement with staff and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain liaison relationships with key internal and external stakeholders by providing positive and efficient customer service.
- Prepare, manage, and arrange for directorate travel arrangements.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Relevant industry experience in the assisting management and teams in administration and organisation.
- Class “C” NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult people
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
- Demonstrated commitment to honesty and integrity
