About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager with a strong financial and Manufacturing background to ensure the effective management, growth and coordination of the day-to-day operations of Pioneer Water Tanks at our Bellevue Office, reporting to the Managing Director, this position will suit a person with a strong background in either the manufacturing or agriculture industries and who has excellent management, people skills and strong budget disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Commercial Performance
- Lead the development and execution of growth strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profit targets
- Drive balance sheet performance with a focus on debtor and stock control
- Prepare short and long-term business plans and recommend resource allocation to achieve objectives
- Work with sales and marketing teams to implement strategies that drive sales and deliver strong commercial outcomes
Operations & Manufacturing
- Review manufacturing systems and processes, delivering improvement projects to increase efficiency
- Maintain effective operating schedules to support just-in-time procurement, manufacturing, and construction
- Oversee daily operations with a strong focus on safety, productivity, and compliance
- Manage and develop an effective procurement strategy focused on price, quality, and delivery
Dealer Network & People
- Maintain and strengthen a high-performing dealer network across Australia and global markets, addressing and actioning underperformance where needed
- Drive company culture in alignment with Ahrens Group corporate values
- Provide mentoring and development opportunities that support management succession
Coordinate with HR to recruit and retain skilled employees in line with business needs

About You:
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification or hands on expereinces in Business Management or related disciplines
- Previous experience in a similar role within a Manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to take a hands-on approach.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills – including communication and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and demonstrated leadership experience in leading a safe working environment.
- Proven ability to achieve targets – both in sales and production.
- Understanding of building regulations and construction codes
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in the water storage industry.
- Experience in manufacturing and construction sectors
Experience overseeing a business that delivers on a national and international scale
