Support Worker / Home Care Assistant
Location: Auchenflower, QLD (Inner Western Brisbane)
Hours: Casual (Roster and hours to be discussed)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and proactive Support Worker to provide high-quality home care services for a client residing in the leafy, inner-western suburb of Auchenflower.
This role focuses on delivering everyday practical help to ensure our client remains comfortable, safe, and supported in their own home and well-connected to their local community.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the client's tailored care plan, your day-to-day tasks will include a mix of:
Domestic Assistance: Helping with light housekeeping, laundry, vacuuming, and maintaining a clean, tidy living space.
Meal Preparation: Assisting with basic meal prep or cooking healthy options according to the client’s preferences.
Community Access & Transport: Driving the client to local medical appointments (e.g., nearby Wesley Hospital precinct), running errands, or heading out to local cafes/parks.
Companionship: Providing engaging social interaction, conversation, and emotional support.
Personal Care Support: Minimal to light assistance
About You
You are someone who genuinely enjoys supporting others, possesses strong communication skills, and respects a client's autonomy and privacy. Being local to the inner-west area or having reliable transport to Auchenflower is a major advantage.
Requirements & Qualifications
Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing, Disability, or equivalent (highly regarded, but transferable life/care experience is welcome).
Current National Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle (required for community transport).
Working rights in Australia.
