Sydney CBD | Scape Darling House | Full-Time
WHO WE ARE
At Scape Australia, we do more than provide student accommodation. We create thriving, fun communities where students can live, learn, and grow. With over 20,000 residents across Australia, we combine smart design, brilliant service, and good vibes to make every resident feel welcome.
Now part of The Living Company, we’re shaping the future of student living, one amazing experience at a time.
YOUR ROLE
As part of the Scape Darling House Eats team, you’ll be at the heart of a kitchen that actually makes an impact – creating quality, consistent food for a community of students who rely on us every day.
Day-to-day you will:
- Prepare and produce high-quality food across our buffet-style resident eatery, maintaining exceptional standards from prep to plate.
- Confidently operate kitchen equipment including deep-fryers, combi ovens, commercial dishwashers, and hot food displays.
- Keep food safety front of mind - managing temperature controls, stock rotation (FIFO), and HACCP compliance as second nature.
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to keep service running smoothly and residents happy.
- Step up when standards slip - continuously look for ways to improve quality and value, presenting food and beverage to best practice.
- Contribute to a kitchen culture where learning, respect, and good food are non-negotiable.
- Support the team through high-volume service with pace, precision, and a calm head.
Genuine work life balance with no late night shift! Although it's based on 7 day's roster, you can always have one regular day off on the weekend.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You're a skilled, dependable cook who takes pride in your section and brings positive energy to the team. You are:
Holds a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent culinary qualification.
- Experienced, with at least 3 years in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Confident with volume cooking and able to maintain quality under pressure.
- Knowledgeable in food safety practices and comfortable working to HACCP standards.
- Curious about food, with a general appreciation for international cuisines.
- A team player who follows direction, communicates well, and shows up ready to work.
