The role
The Governance Support Officer is an integral member of the Governance team, responsible for providing a broad range of high-quality, confidential and efficient administrative support within the Governance team such as assisting with:
- Council briefing and meeting processes and practices
- Councillor support including diary management
- Executive Team meeting processes and practices
- Freedom of Information requests as per the Freedom of Information Act 1982
- Administrative compliance of Community Asset Committees within the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act 2020
- Coordination of citizenship ceremonies and Council elections as required
- Undertaking the road naming process.
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
- relevant experience and qualifications
- highly developed administrative and organisational skills
- advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite of products including the capacity to use these tools to create administrative systems
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong attention to detail.
- knowledge of Council processes and the Local Government Act will be advantageous.
