About the Role
We're seeking a compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting a participant in
Mount Vernon. This is a casual ongoing opportunity providing consistent 1:1 support across weekday shifts. You'll play an important role in supporting the participant to maintain their independence, access their community, and receive personalised support that meets their individual needs.
Shifts:
- Monday 6:00pm – 10:00pm
- Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the participant with domestic assistance and household tasks
- Providing community access support and assisting with social participation
- Building a positive and respectful relationship with the participant
- Supporting the participant to achieve their everyday goals and maintain independence
- Working collaboratively with family members and the broader support team
- Supporting positive behaviour approaches and following individual support plans
- Providing practical assistance tailored to the participant’s needs
About You
- Experience supporting people with disability, including individuals with behaviours of concern
- A caring, patient and reliable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a home-based support environment
- Confident supporting participants with complex needs and individual routines
- Holds a valid P2 or Open Driver Licence, and access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes
- Holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
