As an Operator & Maintainer to the Australian Federal and NSW Governments, Parklife Metro is leading a transformative metro project connecting St Marys to Bradfield and the new Western Sydney Airport.
The Parklife Metro (PLM) consortium, comprising Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens and Webuild, is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package for the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport project.
RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain six new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills for 15 years following commencement of operations.
About the Role:
Reporting functionally to the O&M Readiness Director and Defect Manager, the Asset Engineer – Track & Civil Structures will play a key role in supporting the safe and successful transition of track and civil assets from project delivery into operations and maintenance.
Working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and Commercial teams, you will support defect management, testing and commissioning, asset acceptance, operational readiness and handover activities. You will provide technical assurance to ensure track and civil infrastructure is safe, compliant, maintainable and ready for passenger service.
Prior to Trial Operations-
Provide O&M and maintainability input into track and civil design reviews, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and asset acceptance activities.

Support the governance, assessment and close-out of defects, non-conformances and incomplete works.

Participate in inspections, walkdowns, testing, commissioning and technical reviews across stations, track corridors, tunnels, elevated structures and maintenance facilities.

Review asset handover packages, including as-built documentation, warranties, inspection reports, maintenance documentation and asset data.

Support the development of maintenance requirements, inspection regimes, asset hierarchies and lifecycle strategies.
During Trial Operations and Transition to Operations-
Manage outstanding defects during the Defects Correction Period (DCP), ensuring rectification activities are verified and closed in line with contractual requirements.

Conduct engineering risk assessments and support the management of design changes, concessions and temporary arrangements.

Support technical investigations, root cause analysis and resolution of repeat or safety-significant defects.

Ensure all residual risks, warranties and defect records are effectively transitioned to the permanent operational team.
About You:
You are a collaborative and detail-oriented engineering professional with experience in track, rail infrastructure, civil structures or related asset management environments. You have a strong understanding of operational readiness, defect management and asset handover within complex infrastructure projects.
You will bring:

Typically 5+ years' experience in railway track, civil structures, infrastructure maintenance, engineering assurance or asset management within rail, transport or other safety-critical industries.

Demonstrated experience supporting defect management, asset handover, Testing & Commissioning and Operational Readiness activities.

Understanding of civil and structural assets such as stations, viaducts, bridges, retaining structures, roadworks and maintenance facilities.

Experience conducting technical investigations, risk assessments and evidence-based defect close-out activities.

Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Railway Engineering or a related discipline.
